There were no previous sketches for this drawings. I just made some quick lines with micron pens while watching the worldcup matches, trying to capture the movement, the speed and the energy of the event.
After that I defined those lines with a Pentel brush-pen. Then, after the matches and more calmly I added the details, such as the grass, the shadows or the uniforms.
This is why you won’t find known faces in this drawings, exept for Messi and the moment involving him that I did try to capture in particular. The rest of the characters are made up and are a quick combination of all those forms I was watching during the matches.
I made the first drawings on regular office paper and then I switched to a more fancy cardboard for the rest.
Colombia was not in this worldcup, so I wanted Japan to win, but now that they are gone I hope for Argentina.

Estos dibujos no tuvieron bocetación previa. Solo tracé unas cuantas líneas rápidas con rapidógrafo sobre el papel mientras veía los partidos del mundial de fútbol, intentando capturar el movimiento, la rapidez y la energía del evento.
Luego de eso y sobre el mismo papel, utilicé un pincel Pentel Fudepen para definír mejor las líneas y, posteriormente, ya con mas calma y después de los partidos, agregué los detalles de los prados las sombras y los uniformes.
Por lo tanto no encontrarán rostros conocidos en estos dibujos, salvo la excepción de Messi, con quien si me interesó representar esa jugada específica. De resto, los rostros son inventados en el momento y son mas como una combinación rápida de todas las formas que vi a lo largo de los partidos.
Los primeros dibujos los hice sobre papel bond de oficina y los últimos sobre cartulina opalina crema.
Como Colombia no estuvo en este mundial quería que Japón ganara la copa pero, ahora que ya se fueron, espero que gane Argentina.
